Layne Scherer’s work has focused on STEM higher education, including the preparation of K-12 teachers, undergraduate and graduate education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to AAAS, Scherer worked at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and the National Science Foundation in the EDU directorate. Scherer has a B.A. in English and history of art and a M.P.P. from the University of Michigan.
For EPSCoR, Scherer will serve as the lead for the day-to-day operations of the project.
