Overview
Arkansas NSF EPSCoR strengthens science and engineering research and education to enhance Arkansas’s research capacity, competitiveness, and long‑term economic prosperity. The program supports strategic initiatives that foster discovery, innovation, and workforce development while advancing the state’s science and technology capabilities.
Key goals include catalyzing priority research themes, building effective statewide and regional partnerships among academia, government, and industry, and broadening participation across institutions and communities. Arkansas NSF EPSCoR also leverages its support to pilot and evaluate new programmatic approaches that drive sustainable improvement in research and development.
As part of the National Science Foundation’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), Arkansas promotes collaborative research, education, and outreach statewide. Complementing these efforts, the Division of Science and Technology at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission supports commercialization and entrepreneurship by developing infrastructure that translates research excellence into job‑creating innovation.
